What should I worry about if I open a cafe in my apartment

I am interested in starting a cafe out of my apartment. What are the obvious reasons to not do this (its not that obvious to me), and the less obvious pitfalls to avoid if i do decide to go through with it?
Answer1:City regulations is the major issue. Then food and drug administration. They both wont let you go trough with it
Answer2:man that would be a sweet idea.....id love to have a cafe in my apartment
Answer3:If your city makes any sense, they wont let you do it.
Answer4:Your apartment is zoned by city ordinance as Residential property. You cannot run a commercial or retail outlet from a Residential zone, you would need what is called a "Commercial variance" that allows you to conduct retail sales or food services from your apartment.Further, you would need liability insurance for injuries and problems that arise from your cafe, or you would be personally liable because it is your place of business, which your renters insurance does not provide. In short, this is a bad idea and most certainly illegal.Recommend you rent a small shop and serve coffee/food from there instead and make a real business of it there, with proper liability insurance and in alignment with city zoning laws.
Answer5:they will not let you, fire and safety regulations and noise and pollution are just a few ,i could list more
Answer6:Some years ago, West Perth was really a very quite place. Because of the immigrates flowing into Perth, almost everyday, especially at lunch time, all along the street the cafes and restrurants are excetionally busy. Location! Location! Location!Money! Money! Money!
Answer7:wont be approved by Zoning or Health Department
