I am still a Full time university student, and as I do Egyptology, and I have to go to Egypt anyway, I was thinking that in my next trip to Egypt, I could buy about 5-6 original belly dancing costumes (they cost about 30 pound there) and then, bring them to the UK and sell them on ebay. Now, the average price of these costumes in the UK is about 100 pounds, so I could triple my money, and put aside some money to cover my university fees.See prices here for example:http://www.turkishemporium.co.uk/belly-d...Does it sound good to you? If I try to sell them on ebay, will I get taxed for that? Anybody knows? Does my plan sound any good?.--Answer1:Is there really a market for belly dancing costumes in the UK? Youll probably end up losing money - not making money..--Answer2:I dont know but I admire your imagination. Good luck!.--Answer3:what about import duty and vat , customs will love you .Maybe you could do a demo for them might make them look on you more kindly, course that depends wether you have a belly that swings. LOL.--Answer4:I would try to sell them on ebay before you buy the stock then you win if it works but dont loose much money if it doesnt. Id try and sell them to fancy dress hire shops and Ann Summers or appropriate retail businesses too as they may have more interest than the public via ebayId do this for a variety of test products - Egyptian Cotton bed sheets probably have more UK demand than belly dancing costumes - I imagine there is a good margin on those too?Keep overheads and risk to a minimum - thats good business practice for anything Cheers, Maccers
