I went to a local car stereo dealer and had a new stereo installed in my car.after the job was finished (2 days later) the invoice was higher that the initial quote. Dealer explained that it was extra labor. I paid the invoice and left. After researching the brand and price of stereo and extra parts in the Internet, I noticed that the dealer charged twice as much. I went back to the dealer and asked for a partial refund on the price and he refused. I asked him to remove the stereo and refund my money and he refused because the equipment was used (24 hrs). has anyone faced a similar situation? and what was the outcome?.--Answer1:Report it to business burial, if people report’s this person a lot he can have his license revoke (Cancel).--Answer2:If the person you talked w/was the manager or owner, then youve gone as high in the organization you can go to complain. The next steps are to contact the franchise or chain if its not a mom n pop business. Register a complaint with your local chamber of commerce, better business bureau & state attorney general. You can also contact the manufacturer of the product (theyre always interested in how their products are being promoted and your dissatisfaction w/the dealer can prompt action). With most services youve got 3 days to renig on the contract. Do you recall signing anything that specifies the 24 hour deal? You might have recourse in the paperwork, so double-check everything in your possession. If theres no mention of the 24-hour used stipulation, you can politely threaten this guy with reporting him to the attorney general & bbb...they know you mean business then & they cant get over on you. Many times that will be what gets them to work with you.I worked in marketing and used this technique a few times. It worked each time it was necessary to use it.
