Do people prefer to buy now or bid in auction on ebay

I have been selling on ebay for a while now and can never decide on whether to list my items on auctions or buy it now.. What do you prefer?? I want peoples opinions, thanks
Answer1:im always on ebay, and 90% of the time i use the buy it now option. Ive bid on a few things in the past tho
Answer2:Bid, becasue if you start at a low price people think theyre getting a bargain. You can always put a reserve if you are worried the item will sell too cheap!:)x
Answer3:Ive bough hundreds of things on Ebay but personally I like the buy it now option better - instant results! You can advertise things as both I believe.
Answer4:I prefer to bid, because when you win an auction its a great feeling like you really deserve the item, but if you bid price could get too high so buy it now is still a good option. I use both but prefer to bid.
Answer5:I think it depends on what you are selling and what price you are looking for, for your item.If you are selling a £200 TV and set it as a Buy It Now option eBay will normally take a substantial final value fee from you - £12 plus. However auctioning it off could mean you loose a fair bit of money if it doesnt get enough interest and of course your insertion costs and final value fee will be totaling £10-£15. What I tend to do is set a Buy It Now price and an auction start off. So if I was selling a TV for £200 I would set the Buy It Now price as £200 and an auction price of about £180 to entice visitors to go for the Buy It Now price. So basically if it costs use either Buy It Now or Buy It Now/Auction and If you are selling something that is under £20 I would recommend the auction method.
Answer6:I definitely prefer bidding. I like to watch things and sometimes buy it now prices are just so high. I sometimes look for clothes that may have sold out in say Topshop for example, but then people put them on Ebay with a buy it now price of over double the original price! I would much rather something started at a lower price and there is a fair bidding war. x
Answer7:If you sell a lot of stuff - I would just test it by providing both options and see what gets the best result over a period of time.A

I want to sell some things on ebay

Im a 15 year old in desperate need of cash.My parents stopped giving me money cause they couldnt afford it.I have a lot of stuff i dont use anymore and stuff that cost me so much but i never used.I want to sell them on ebay.BUT I dont have a credit card and my parents are weiry about letting me use their one.I dont want to buy off ebay, just sell.so, would it be possible for me to sell things on ebay without having a credit card?
      Answer1:i would do it
Answer2:No, because there is a fee for listing items. they need a CC.Eat Funyuns.
Answer3:yes go and get a disposable credit card from the grocery store. they are located near the girft card section for $9.95.go to the cash register, load some money on it and then register an account with ebay.
Answer4:no i dont think so just try to find a way to show them its safe or buy get one of your friends who can use ebay to do it for you
Answer5:I sell things on ebay always, I had to make a paypal account. When making an account on ebay you need a credit card on file or checking account for ebay fees. You also may want to get a pay pal account, but that also needs a checking account or credit card to recieve your cash, they do have an option to recieve it in a check or on a pay pal card, but you still have to register with a credit card or so on file. Ask your parents to make an account for you. If they dont want to help, try craigs list. Its a classified site and may have people checkin out stuff in your area.
Answer6:must be 18 parents need to open an ebay account and paypal..better if you have little experience to know whats selling and how much to sell them for at starting bid or add buyitnow.
Answer7:yes you can do it yourself. just go in the auction site and then just put that client can contact you directly so then you can talk how will you gonna get paid. BTW, get guidance of your parents to do it atleast your sure that you will not get scammed.
Answer8:You do not have to have a credit card but u do have to have a bank account with about 10 bucks in there you dint have to pay anything to post your add onto ebay but u do have to have a pay pal account to get your money when u sell it also be very careful on ebay people will do anything to rip you off trust me im 17 yrs old and i have been riped off about 4 times they will send you fake emails so whatever you do double check everything before you send the item to them there are reports of people ripping people off about 4500 a day and that all comes out your bank but im going to tell you this if you have 2nd thoughts about going on ebay there is a very very good site that is almost as good as ebay its called ioffer.com make an account buy sell trade whatever you got to do its 100% free you dont have to have any cards no bank account nothing.
Answer9:Well you could (though its illegal, But you wont get caught) sign up for paypal without putting your card details in, then sign up for ebay and accept payments via paypal. Then to pay your fees use the money you get from selling stuff because you dont have to pay fees until the end of the month. But then you have the problem that you will have a paypal account that you will have all the money in and without a C-Card you can get the money the only thing you could do with the money is spend it on ebay or just buy things of the internet off sites that accept paypal.
Answer10:hey,dear why dont you try to show ur products on free hot videos sites ,such as youtube, you try to visit this link: http://www.tobenicer.comhope you can get more informations

Selling hand-made jewellery on eBay

If I wanted to sell jewellery that I make in eBay, at what point would I have to register as a shop? Do you have to register the shop as a business, and therefore have to pay tax on it?Im only thinking about this as a hobby, so creating a shop might be too much hassle...
Answer1:just sell it as a normal item and put your shop name in the item description...if thats what you mean
Answer2:hmm.. why dont you just sell them as an item each, if its only a hobby i think people who have shops do it full time!what kind of jewellery do you make??
Answer3:You dont have to have a shop on Ebay, there optional. It just makes things easier for those who have a constant stream of items being listed and sold everyday. You might want to start considering it if your business picks up and keeping up with peoples orders becomes confusing. but honestly, for £14.99 a month its not worth it for selling small-medium sized quanties. You wont have to register yourself as a business till your earning a steady wage from itm if your selling simply as a hobby and a way to pay for your hobby with a little extra cash then you dont need to register.Just list them as a normal listing, as you would if you were selling old dvds or something!
      Answer4:buy domain-http://domainforsell.info/

      Answer6:Earn money http://bucks4banner.com/
Answer7:Just join eBay,register your name as seller

What do I do if someone bids on my eBay item but then never pays

I just sold a few things on eBay and at the very last minute I got a bid for $1,009.00. The bid before that was $300.00. Its been over a day since they won the item and they have yet to pay. They also told me to ship it to Nigeria, when in my description says SHIPS TO US ONLY. How do I get them to pay? I know its probably a fake bidder.
Answer1:Give them a week to payand if they dont file both an ebay and if relevant a pay pal dispute.
Answer2:next time have someone put down a deposit, then take the rest after.call the police
Answer3:You want to address this with eBay right away.

Ebay bid won help quick

Im having the person i won the bid with switch to google checkouthow would he go about sending a payment request and then i could pay him once he sent the invoice or etc....please any help
Answer1:He just needs to send you an invoice using google checkout and you just pay using your credit card. Make sure when you pay you go into your ebay profile and mark it as payment sent.
Answer2:Make sure he goes to his profile on ebay and click "Item Paid For". Then he will just have to trust that you pay him through Google instead...since its not linked with Ebay.Or better yet, call ebay. They have a 1800 number Im sure...
Answer3:Havent the evil minions at eBay banned Google Checkout?http://news.cnet.com/8301-10784_3-609124...

Sold an item on eBay and buyer has failed to Pay

I have sold a phone on eBay with a 7 day auction and the highest bidder has failed to pay on time. I had clearly stated in the description that payment must be paid within 24 hours. So I sent him a couple of messages to pay etc and doesn’t respond. He can’t be away because he bided in last few seconds and he has a high 100+ 100% positive feedback. I have never had this trouble before when selling; they usually pay same time as purchase. So I was wondering how much money have I lost through eBay fees and I know that they take a percent of the price it went? If so does it happen straight away or after payment has cleared? I didn’t check My Account Balance before or after so I don’t know how that works. Since there’s this new rule for sellers not leaving negative feedbacks to buyers I can’t state the trouble cause in his feedback. Is there anyway to get him into trouble for wasting my time and money?? Any information would help!
Answer1:You can file a dispute no matter what the item is or the allowed payment time ( which can be whatever you want it doesnt have to be 7 days most people actual require immediate payment. ) You will get the Ebay fees reimbursed *if* you win the dispute. What happens is you file a dispute. Then the buyer has so many days to respond to the dispute. After that period of time if they havent responded you will get your Ebay fees reimbursed, and the buyer will get a nonpayment strike on their account. Also how long has it been since the auction ended?!?If they put in a bid in the last few seconds they may not have read the description completely, and could have not noticed that allowed time to pay. Give it 1 week just some time to respond especially if they have 100% possitive feedback ( until friday if they still havent payed then file for "unpaid item"Just make sure you do not send the item out lol.
Answer2:Well usually, buyers have a 7 day payment term.24h is a short time. When I buy on eBay, I usually pay within 2 or 3 days.If I where you, I wouldnt worry. I guess your buyer will pay the object. Now if it is an object that ends (like a ticket for a show or so) then you can indeed file a dispute on eBay to get you eBay fees back.
Answer3:Search: Business Empire MagazineThey have a lot of good information on building your own business even if we are in a recession. They call themselves an interactive digital magazine and have said in their blogs many of the different useful features that they will be adding by next week. They also help you gather information which is cool so its worth a try

Ebay fees

Does anyone know how ebay fees work? I was charged $11.59 from ebay. All I sold this month was a gift card for $14. However, I did purchase an ipod for $200. Do buyers get charged for their purchases? I am confused how this works.
Answer1:I dont know but Ebay is a pain in the a**.
Answer2:It may be a shipping fee from the Ipod, if its not you should write them an email.
Answer3:Buyers are not charged for anything on eBayHeres the fees for selling on eBayhttp://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.htm...Im not sure how much you started the bidding but $11.59 for a $14 is very very high -- did you do bold or included a Buy It Now or highlight and other listing upgrades?
Answer4:It shouldnt be that much of a fee. I sell all the time. In matter of fact I just sold a Motorola Pebl u6 the day before yesterday for $36. I was only charged $1.50. Unless you added a lot of features to your listing that were expensive. You may want to contact ebay and ask why its so high.

Ebay is it easy to start selling

I would like to start selling on ebay, but after reading all the rules and regulations it sounds like a minefield, is it quite easy, i have already set up my name and paypal but am not sure what to do, i think when you start you can only start selling stuff for a minimum amount £100 i think, anyone outthere got any good and practical advice or even a book with brief and concise details on how to start, and any tips would be grateful.
Answer1:You can start with ebay, where you can buy and sell electronics, cars, clothing, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods, digital cameras, and everything else on eBay. Sign up and begin to buy and sell - auction or buy it now - almost anything on eBay.com (a successful online business).
Answer2:i just followed the stuff on screen and sold a load of items for more than expected... im eating peanut butter toast by the way and my keyboard is now sticky
      Answer3:forex-http://tradingsolutionorg/
      Answer4:business and newshttp://yugtran.info/
Answer5:Its dead easy you dont have any limits to adhere to
      Answer6:buy domain-http://domainforsell.info/
Answer7:Well done for reading up before you start to sell! So many eBayers dont do that and end up with all kinds of problems. It is easy to sell on eBay but you need to work within the rules. You can sell what you like, within reason, but have a quick look here at prohibited and restricted itemshttp://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/it...You choose your own start price, so its not really clear what you mean by "you can only start selling stuff for a minimum amount £100 i think".As for advice, you can get plenty of free help from eBay itself. In case you havent found these pages in the help section try herehttp://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/ia/get...and when you get a bit more established, herehttp://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/index....You can also ask for help and advice on the discussion boards and answer centre there (which you can find by using the Community tab at the top-right of any eBay page). Most of the advice youll get on the boards is good - it comes from other eBayers - although some of the replies youll get can be, lets say, a little brusque so be prepared for a rough ride (although most of us are friendly!)Good luck with your selling.

Ebay Sellers How are ebay sales doing these days

So I sold on Ebay for about 7 years and did pretty good. Its been a year though since I have sold. Just wondering how sales are now with the economy the way it is. I know that it depends on what you sell too but on average, are sales way down like I suspect?
Answer1:Well, from the answers you have received, I would assume Ebay is not doing very well at all.Try Craigs List. They may be doing a little better. :DIf I were to sell something I would definitely use Craigs List over Ebay.I usually just give it away. Know anyone who is looking for a motor home? It runs. Just needs a battery and a tuneup and some gasoline.:D

How do I begin selling on eBay

I have an eBay account and Ive been selling for the past few months. A month ago, a customer gave me negative feedback and that lowered my DSR. Now, eBay wont let me sell anything until my DSR improves. But how do I improve it if I cant sell anything? How can I begin to sell again?
Answer1:They suspend you for low 30-day DSRs, not the 12 month DSRs. When the poor DSRs are 30 days old, they will drop off and your 30 day rating will bounce back based on more recent ratings. DSRs suck if someone has a vengeance. You could also attempt to revise the FB through the new revision option. You basically make good with the buyer (refund if they return the item) and they adjust the FB & DSRs if they are a decent person.

Why won39;t anyone bid on my jeans on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...Its my first sale on that account. Advice?
Answer1:Youve got pictures, youve commented on anything weird in the photo, all seems to be perfect. All I can think of is someone would have to be extremely tiny (size 00) to wear those jeans and would probably be too young to have a means to pay for them.
Answer2:My first ebay sale items did not sell either. And today, I only sell about 50% of the stuff I list.Do not fear. Clothes are hard to sell. Just keep plugging alongDid not look at your auction, but believe that you will sell something one day. It is a great website.
Answer3:Hi.Its your first time. Someone will bid. Some factors to consider peope viewing need to be right size & have to be looking for jeans. Someone will bid. Good luck & Peace
Answer4:1) personally I wouldnt bid on something that says it was worn but not washed.2) your description mentions these are misses and also size double zero.If you search online for a size chart for misses clothing, the lowest size in misses is zero, if they include it in the chart at all.(I only searched/looked at a couple misses size charts)BUT if you look at the abercrombine & fitch online size chart, they show size charts for men & women. Under women they show measurements & the matching size for womens bottoms they sell, which would probably be helpful to buyers considering buying jeans. In short; list them as womens not misses, include the A&C bottoms information for sizing in measurements as shown on their site with size.womens bottoms sized 00 : waist 23 - 24 hips : 33.5 - 34 Also keep in mind how few people are that small ...link to A&C size chart belowhttp://www.abercrombie.com/anf/onlinesto...

I was thinking of starting an ebay storedoes anyone have any experience with this

Looking for a simple way to make some supplemental income with online retail....Id like to sell pet products, or maybe just one type of pet product. Have any of you guys started an ebay store? Details much appreciated!
Answer1:Hi Charlie*Fly*Girl,I dont have experience with ebay. But if your looking for a simple way to make some supplemental income. My company is expanding in the United States and Canada. You may or may not be interested, but I have some information to show, it will take about 15 minutes. You can preview the information below
Answer2:Oh Charlie!!!I have got your answer right here. I asked the same question over 2 years ago. I started investigating eBay and finally stumbled upon a fantastic mentor/coaching program that taught me all sorts of ways to make money online - not just eBay.Im now pulling in over $397 a day! I highly recommend this guy Mack and his course. He has changed my life. Check out his videos and see what you think.www.RaiseMakers.com
Answer3:You need to check into the difference between a hobby and a true business in case you end up having to file taxes for it.
Answer4:I have experience with having an ebay store. I would like to let you know if you are really interested in opening an ebay store, that you have your auctions together, pictures taken, and descriptions all in order first because you are wasting time and money if you dont. If you never sold on ebay before. I would suggest selling items first, then go to the store. You get a free trial, so use that once you have gotten your feet wet, so you can make a better decision.
Answer5:Yes and its a lot of work, and cost a lot in fees, packing, shipping etc... Not worth the time you put into it, but if your into, follow your heart. Ever thought about mlm. Get In On The Ground Floor http://ultraprosperity.webprosperity.com
