Last Spring, a local newspaper had a salesman going business to business to get new ads. He was a friend of the friend, and came in with a copy of the paper and a flimsy business card. I told him I did not have a big budget, so he gave me "a deal". No contract. Nothing signed. That was it. Come to find out, he left the newspaper due to offering too many deals and annoying people etc.Now the newspaper is saying they want double what was originally told to me.They are threatening me with sending it to collections.I am extremely frustrated and wondering if I have a leg to stand on considering (a) I signed nothing and (b) the salesman that sold it to me left the company..--Answer1:If you didnt sign anything I would tell them to file a small claims and you will win since there is no record of a contract.--Answer2:Kristin, if you didnt sign any contracts, just tell them to go fly a kite.I would just tell them that you didnt authorize this guy to sell you anything. Like the guy above said, if they take you to court there is no contract, so screw them!!!Dont worry that much about it.
