A friend of mine owns a non profit and her EIN is on every page of the website. Is that smart? It doesnt seem like it to me, but I dont know much about it and was hoping someone could give me some advice. A great many of these organizations use the EIN numbers to identify the non-profits, so if someone wanted to donate to your friends non-profit they would need to be able to find the EIN. So, I dont necessarily think theres anything wrong with her having the EIN number available on her website, (I dont think theres anything akin to identity theft that anyone can do with it), but it does seem kind of odd, doesnt it?
