Ive opened an account on e-bay to start selling any advice please

Ive never sold anything on e-bay but a friend has suggested that i sell a particular item of which i have many on e-bay, i know i need a digital camera but do not know how to upload the picture also is it easy to open an account with pay-pal? Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks..--Answer1:Be honest regarding the description and dont post until money is in your account. Beware of foreigners wanting to pay any way other than PayPal.--Answer2:https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr... paypal is easy to set upand if you take a good pic and save to your documents or another file on your pc, then when you come to the part of upload pic, click on BROWSE and go to your documents ot where ever you saved the pics and upload it to ebay, the instructions are pretty clear, just follow them. good luck..--Answer3:Check on Ebay to see what is being sold and what prices - then buy similar products at cheaper price and then try to sell them on. Good luck..--Answer4:Ideally you need to use your digital camera together with something like photoshop to reduce the image size to around 6" x 4" with a 200 or 250 pixel count as ebay images are low resolution. Put your pictures into your My Pictures folder. They are all automatically given a file number. When you are listing an item you are asked if you want to put pictures in (the first is free, after that they are 12p each). Just follow the instructions, click on the file number of the picture you chose, clock on open and the ebay software will record it. when you have notied the pictures you want click the upload/download button and their software will copy the pictures details from your files. It is easy enough to open a paypal account but they need your bank details as main fund source and a credit cards details as a secondary funding option. When you join, they send a small - anything from 16p to 40p deposit to your bank account. You have to wait until this is cleared and then tell paypal the amount and transaction reference number. They say this takes 3 or 4 days but in fact anything up to 10 days is not unusual. When you sell something the money goes into your paypal account as a credit deposit (just like putting it into the bank). You are advised of its receipt by email. You can either leave the money there to use when buying, or use the send money option to send it to your bank account. When starting to sell you would be better off making your first 10 sales items of relatively low value while you feel your way because until you get at least 10 positive feedbacks you will not get very good prices for your items as buyers do not trust new ebayers until they prove themselves. Your feedback score is your credit rating on ebay. For instance, i currently have a score of 988 all positives, i have never had a negative or neutral feedback. I consistently get good prices for my items because i have proved my honesty 988 times. ebay is a funny place, people bid on an item that they have never seen, owned by a stranger maybe hundreds of miles away, and have to pay for it before they see it. It is only the feedback system that makes it work. When you list an item give a comprehensive description. When you sell, you should think like a buyer. What would YOU want to know about the item if you were thinking of bidding on it. Make your description factual and truthful. If an item has a fault, describe it. A fault that worries you may not worry someone else. For instance, if you were selling a laptop with the sound kaput that would not worry me as i never ever have my sound switched on. Would probably not worry anyone with a hearing problem either.Set a delivery cost that WILL cover your costs! Get the post offices postage rates leaflet and weigh your items. If you dont, you can get your fingers burnt. Bit silly charging a fiver postage on a weighty item then finding it will cost 14 quid to send when you are at the post office counter.Personally i ALWAYS use either Recorded Delivery or Special delivery as these require the recipient to sign for the package on receipt so they cannot say it did not arrive. It is a bit more expensive than normal post but they will be paying the postage not you!Until you have 10 feedbacks you cannot use Buy it Now putting in a fixed price, so make the starting bid the minimum figure you want. If you put a low start bid figure like 99p (beloved of ebay) you can find yourself only getting one bidder if you are unlucky and having to let the item go for that. I got 60 quids worth of digital camera a couple of weeks back for 99p plus a fiver postage. I was the only bidder. If you are buying items in, remember, you are bidding on EXACTLY what the listing says. Do NOT make any assumptions at all. If it does not say good condition it probably wont be. If a watch was advertised as Rotery dont assume it is just a miss-spell of Rotary because what you will get will be a bit of Chinese crap with the name Rotery on it.The day ebaying stops being fun, pack it in.Good luck.
